Vertebral joints can lock against each other and thus become immobile. In common parlance, there are many descriptions for this: "The vertebra is dislocated, a nerve is pinched, something is "out" or "in" again! But what really happens when a blockage occurs? A blockage of the vertebral joints is accompanied by three components:1. there is a slight displacement of the vertebral body in relation to the vertebra above or below.2. the displacement causes a blockage in the vertebral joint.3. the fixation can lead to irritation of the spinal nerve exiting there. | In technical terminology, this is known as the "vertebral subluxation complex" and is a common cause of pain and chronic tension. |
